Aged Heart Pine (Wide Board Dark)
The
over 150 year old, rich, dark patina of this wide board floor
glows with a unique warmth and texture. Due to the hard, dense
grain of heart pine, time has only left a few scars, but you

wear have added to each board.

BB 100
Year Old Heart Pine floor from the Wine Country
Heart
Pine is a dense, virgin growth wood that becomes rock hard
over time. It was the wood of choice in the 18 th century.
The tree consists almost entirely of incredibly hard “heartwood”
which doesn’t decay or get damaged by bugs. It took 36 years
for 1 inch of heartwood growth. This wine country floor has
the dents and marks of time embedded in the surface to give
it a deep, rich color and texture enhanced by its glowing
patina.

GW Antique River-Recovered
Heart Pine: Midnight Heart Pine
Straight
from the mysterious waters of the Savannah River comes Midnight
Heart Pine, older than any previously available heartwood.
When General Oglethorpe laid out the port town of Savannah,
Georgia in the early 1700s, antique heart pine and heart cypress
were perfect for dock pilings. These woods withstood the elements
and became the principal building materials for the entire
town.
This wood come directly from the deconstruction of Oglethorpe’s
historic dock. Many of the logs still show the ax and adz
marks where they were hand hewn. Its rich colors are generally
darker than the river-recovered® products.
This antique heart pine is 100% heartwood and has the highest
level of hardness and durability.
Characteristics:
• Deep, rich color in chocolate cherry tones
• 100 percent heartwood
• At least 8 growth rings per inch
• No knots over 1-1/2”
• 1225 on the Janka scale comparable to red oak (1290) &
